Meet the Team

My passion for off-roading began in the 70s, watching my dad race Jeeps. I took that passion and turned it into a career that has led me to things I never thought possible as a kid. I began my early career in the Air Force, as a hydraulic specialist on C-5 aircraft, which helped fuel my love for travel, in addition to off-roading. After my stint in the Air Force, my wife, Barb, and I moved to Moab, Utah, one of the most famous off-roading destinations in the world, and opened Outlaw Jeep Tours. I’ve been married to Barb (my co-driver), for 32 years and enjoy spending my spare time with my family, building my own Jeeps, and wheeling.

Averaging close to 240 trail days a year, I’ve guided every trail in Moab, and quite a few others across the country, ranging from the easiest to the most difficult, with everything from stock Jeeps, to buggies, to racecars. In addition to guiding trails and gathering experience in off-roading, I have also competed in the World Extreme Rock Crawling Championship Series, raced Dirt Riot, Ultra4 Western unlimited series (King of the Hammers), along with Best in the Desert and Score International Off-Road Racing (Baja 500). My experience in the industry has led to work over the years with television channels such as Discovery, History Channel, and TLC, as well as multiple episodes of Top Gear. As a major testing ground for vehicles and products, Moab naturally led me to associations with some of the top off-road companies in the business, including Jeep, which contributed to my traveling to New Zealand to build one the most significant launch programs – the media introduction of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler and 2019 Jeep JT Gladiator, a year later. My wife and I currently reside in Moab, UT where we own and operate High Desert 4 Wheel Drive and race a factory Jeep Mojave for Jeep, in Best in the Desert and Score International Off-Road racing series.

I love providing world-class customer service and have been personalizing incredible event experiences for decades. I worked in incentive travel for over 30 years across 40-plus counties for a multitude of companies including Acura, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, Jeep, and Toyota. For the last 10 years, I have focused most of my efforts on creating, managing, and operating drive events, specializing in advanced off-road driver training combined with remote adventure activities. My passion is to help people get where most can’t and do what most don’t.
